The best footage is usually captured on a smartphone - and now a new gadget could make watching memorable moments more enjoyable.

Instead of crowding around a tiny smartphone to view viral videos, the Smart Phone Projector lets you display the footage on any surface.

Made from cardboard, the simple design also claims to amplify the sound without the need for additional wires or a separate sound system.

The black and white Smart Phone Projector is listed on on PrezzyBox.com and can be set up 'within minutes'.

It has a 10x magnifying lens at the front to increase the video size on a wall and a grip pad on the back to securely hold a smartphone in place.

The system was created by British firm Luckies of London who wanted to develop a device that featured modern technology but with a vintage feel.

HOW TO CREATE YOUR OWN SMARTPHONE PROJECTOR

If you don't want to shell out £15.95 ($27), you could also make your own projector using a box, a magnifying glass, a paper clip and duct tape.

According to Seriouslyforreal.com creating a projector is as simple as cutting a hole into the box and taping the magnifying glass to that hole.

A paperclip can then be added as a stand for the smartphone.

The last step is to rotate the screen on the phone under 'Settings' so that the projection doesn't appear upside-down. All you need now is popcorn.

The portable gadget costs £15.95 ($27), and means you can turn any room in your home into a cinema screen.

But there are a a number compromises. For instance, the projection is dim, small, and can often be blurry. There are also no volume controls.
