The new Xbox One, PS4 and PC version of the notorious game has a new first person mode, developer Rockstar Games has revealed, describing it as 'intense.
'It's a very intense, in-your-face experience… literally,' says Rob Nelson, the Animation Director on GTA 5, told gaming site IGN.
'Obviously, we felt like one of the most compelling things you could do to make an experience people have had before feel different was the new first-person mode.'
'This new mode gives players the chance to explore the world of Los Santos and Blaine County directly through the eyes of their character, revealing all the world's glorious details in an entirely new way,' Rockstar said.
'Available in both GTAV and GTA Online, we've made a host of changes to accommodate this new perspective, including the creation of an optional first person cover system, a new targeting system, a more traditional FPS control scheme, and integrating thousands of new animations into the existing game.
'It's also available at the touch of a button so you can easily switch back and forth between perspectives.'
The new mode will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto V, which is released on November 23rd.
The game is already available for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and achieved worldwide retail sales of more than $1 billion during its first three days on sale, according to Company estimates.
'We believe this marks the fastest that any entertainment property, including video games and feature films, has reached this significant milestone,' the firm said.
Rockstar describes the games as 'A bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer, Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California.'
The new version sees the user taking part in car chases, while firing at police cars.
