Facebook comes back online: Social network returns after unexplained 30-minute global outage

Users were unable to log onto Facebook for 30 minutes and took to other forms of social media to show their frustration this morning.
'Sorry, something went wrong' the message replacing Facebook's home page stated.
'We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.'

When reached by MailOnline Facebook said it is looking into what caused the issue.
Users flocked to Twitter to vent their frustration at the lack of service.
'@facebook is still down! This is the longest I remember,' said one.
'facebook is down! I don't think I've ever seen that before,' said another.
Website downdetector.com reports there were over 6,000 reports from users of Facebook being down during the outage.
77 per cent reported a total blackout, while 21 per cent were unable to log in.
